Merited

About

What would mobility look like if it were designed around how we actually move?

That question is where Merited starts. Not with a foreign ride-hailing app and a new coat of paint, but with the everyday reality of moving around a Nigerian city — the landmarks used instead of addresses, the cash in hand, the driver who needs to know exactly what he'll keep at the end of the day.

Merited is being built in Port Harcourt, with Port Harcourt drivers and riders, before it is built anywhere else. We believe a mobility network earns trust city by city, not by claiming the whole country on day one.

Riders need rides they can rely on, at prices that make sense, with the ability to book for the people who matter to them — a parent, a colleague, a visitor. Drivers need to understand exactly what a platform costs them, and to keep more of what they earn.

Technology should adapt to those realities — weak connectivity, informal addresses, cash economies — rather than expecting Nigerians to adapt to technology built somewhere else.

Starting in Port Harcourt

Built here. Built for how we move.

Merited is learning from drivers and riders in one city before expanding deliberately.

What we're building around

Drivers

Transparent costs and a fair path to earning more.

Riders

Reliable, affordable rides that fit how people actually book them.

Communities

Access that extends beyond a single app, over time.

Technology

Built to work with local realities, not around them.

Local realities

Landmarks, cash, connectivity — designed in from day one.
